I’m so sorry this post might be similar to my other one. But, as I’ve been reflecting over this trip. I really want to express to all of you, my emotions, to show you the impact you’ve had on me.
I’m privileged to have such supportive parents, who are all in it for me and 100% hands down, supportive of my journey with God. From taking me to church, paying for conferences and taking the time to pick me up and drop me off. It really helped me grow as an individual. I’m so grateful for the family, I have that they really let me love my church family. Let me go to church every Sunday, stay late and go support my friends. With their continuous support, I’m able to learn about mercy, feel the holy spirit and praise his O Lord. Present: As I reflect right now on the past. And this trip, I’ve seen how far I’ve come with God. From really knowing who he is by having a struggle. Accepting and appreciating him. I see how this trip impacted me the most. It taught me that when I be me, I’m serving God and helping others, know God and love.. As KK says “be you and don’t let anyone stop you from being you.” I’ve viewed God and my Kojima Grandparent’s smiling down on me. Rejoicing in what the Lord has done for me. I say this with great joy! And heartwarming THANK YOU. For all of your support. I really wouldn’t be on this trip and at this high point with God if it wasn’t for you. I strongly encourage others to be a RC ambassador or chaperone in the future years. Future: God has my future. I know that he will use this trip to help better my future. I really, I’m scared of lossing this experience with distractions of school and overall life. But, as for right now. It’s really dear to my heart. I really hope, I can take more time to reflect over my life to help better myself and remember once in a life time experiences! Thank you and thank you Lord!! Mahalo Nui Loa: Kamm

My other post touched based on how we are these Kids from Hawaii. But, we’re also family to some of the Kochi Kids, who came to Spring Church Camp. As I visited, a girl who came last year, house, I saw a little area she made, just for RC and her trip to Hawaii. I’ve also heard and recognized through her parents and sister how much fun she had in Hawaii.
This, to me was God saying you're doing good. Keep it up. This is/was super touching. To know that I’m serving God and making an impact. As she will be visiting soon, I find it eye opening how, Makiki CHRISTIAN Church will be the families must go to place. Showing her family the love she’s received. This all demonstrates what I said before explaining, how the Mayor wants a good, firm connection with the USA/Hawaii. You’ve opened not only her families eyes to a wonderful life and a little to God. But, many others too. Your hard work and dedication is paying off. Thank you Uncle Desmond, Uncle Les, Aunty Cheryl, Praise Team and all of you for your continued support. It really is going to good use. Not only for us MCC members but, for the Seiwa and Tosajoku students. - Kamm Personally, I’ve been so busy, I haven’t been able to keep touch with Max, OP and Shinya, as much as I like. But, after hours or so passed, I was able to connect with them again. They were my family. We all had so many good, silly times together. Trying to be cool like OP, with his style and trends.
Kira and I accidentally, embarrassing Max with our bad tennis skills. Then, have Max show us up with his stoking, fantastic tennis techniques. Worshiping with Max, right before service. Shinya always hiding from us.... you never knew where he was. Learning facts about Panda and fortune cookies from Shinya and OP. Getting help from Max, Shinya and OP as we try to win a toy. But, have to eat five plates of sushi before attempting. They were great sponsors. Over all it was a really fun time with them. I really hope that we can stay in contact. Max you’ll always be my dabbing buddy. OP we stay Trending together. Yoyoyoy, yeyyeye. Shinya, hiding is never the option.... No but seriously, you all blessed me a lot. Thank you for your time and personality. For inspiring me, to be bright and serve God. I wish you all the best in your near future. Congratulations Shinya and Max!! As my title says and making new ones. One of Max’s friend and Co workers Stephen was also assisting us on this trip. The really awesome thing and where I saw God, through it all, was how even though we just met him a few hours ago. The holy spirit shined, In that short time, with his easy going funny attitude, we were all getting close to him. Thank you so much for your hard work and awesome vibe! Keep in touch. - Kamm As we have this journey with God, we are staying at Tosajoku’s dormitory. I was fortunate to spend 12-13 days/nights with Kira and Amanda. A lot of craziness went on. My explanation will not do justice.
One morning, I woke up and Amanda asked, “I heard Japanese Music and Kira agreed.” “I was like what music. Pondering over, if it was maybe her dream. We later found out it was game pegion (apple app). Now, whenever, I play game pegion with the sound on Amanda will always be, “see it’s that music.” That was just one treasure that we laughed at and hope to hold on, as we grow old. Another one would be how interesting it is when, Kira is trying to figure out what to text next, to the Kochi students. “Give me a topic....” “ ah my conversation ended already, another topic.” Then, there’s the recent nights. Nights of weirdness, questionable things and happiness. The nights were Kira’s everywhere. Does the most unquiet things ever. Putting omiyage into musubi containers. Procrastinating, her packing... Then, falling asleep later. Last night was differently one for the books. We were so distracted with whatever, just try to prolong packing. We did take multiple time laps, there were a lot of memories there. Just, trying to find somewhere to put it. As my suitcase was getting full; we didn’t know what to take out... Kira’s creativity decided to get a piece of rope. Tying it around the bag and weighing it with her travel scale. It was pretty innovative. Despite, all the fun we had, we worked really well together. Helping each other out. Telling each other to sleep, waking each other up and just having a good time laughing. It was so funny; I was feeling lazy, but, we had to do something. Kira and Amanda grabbed my phone and played here doggy with me. They also told each other, “K, if we go then she’ll follow.” In which I did. It was moments like these that demonstrated, how well we worked together. Within our dorm team, I really saw God shining and his blessings. Giving us multiple moments to hold. As Amanda mentioned,”I hope we don’t lose these memories.” Like I told Amanda, “I don’t think it would’ve been in God’s plan.” This is honestly just a glimpse, into our dorm team. There were many other times; with vending machine drinks, a messy room, spiders and so much more! I will always love my crazy, awesome girls!! - Kamm (Note: Recent blogs are a little out of order due to time difference and technical difficulties.) Our RC farewell party at Tosa Church was an afternoon and night filled with much laughter and tears yesterday. It was amazing to see how much our 7 young ambassadors have grown. I could see how God’s spirit gives them each special gifts so they could better serve Him and touch those that they met. I, too, have been immensely blessed by these 7 youngsters and all the amazing people we were so privileged to meet and spend time with on this journey. Thank you to our church for choosing me and giving me an opportunity to be blessed and hopefully bless those that I met. We have all learned that just as God loves us, so we should love others. Praise be to God!! -- Aunty Lila Sunday Morning: The RC ambassadors perform for God once again with love at Kochi church. Lunch of supa ono Chinese food with Mr. and Mrs. Ogawa. Sunday Evening: Students from schools that we visited came on their bikes. Host families, church members, teachers and friends all came together for the RC happening and farewell party at Tosa church. The RC ambassadors were touched and blessed with God's love as they shared hula, games, testimony, songs, yummy pot luck foods, Hurricane popcorn, and a special dance. It was AWESOME! Hallelujah! -- Uncle Les As we leave Seiwa, and getting a ride from one of the Seiwa faculty, we were shared a very special message. She was saying how amazing it was for their students to hear from us. From people who are around their age and can connect with. She shared, that having an exciting group, helped out. She was saying how one student came up to her and told her how she was interested in God because of our testimonies we shared at Joy Club and Mimi’s at chapel. She explained to us how our stories showed their students to see that even they can be at the highest and most beautiful peak with God. She told us to talk to the students, about God, our blessings and our life. To show her God’s love. Not only did she tell us we blessed that one student but, she said, we probably blessed multiple people.
Hearing that story, was such a blessing. It really showed that we can make a difference. It demonstrated that it helped that we were late middle school and high school ambassadors, a good age for all students to relate too. That impactful story, made my heart. To know that we are doing good not only for God but, for others. Proverbs 3:5 is so true!! Kamm Kojima Right now, is a really hard time for me. A lot of emotions and sadness spills and cries out of me, as I say see you later to my family in Kochi. I was able to touch a lot of people's hearts. To serve him o Lord. It was amazing to see everyone, those who we saw before this trip and those who we recently met. I have a lot of great memories with my homestay family, their friends and prior members. It was super heartwarming to see the students, my family hosted at the aloha party. I really got to serve him oh lord. Praising him and rejoicing in his name. We just said bye to each other. Crying with tears of sadness and happiness. Now, we will always be with them, in our heart. Our Homestay family blessed us so much. It was so awesome. It was the best. I’m so glad that I can continue the legacy of my grandparents, can constantly share God’s love and follow this day and every other day with history and cover it with love. I really hope to share and help continue this relationship with Kochi. I pray that I can help our future, with youth ministry, RC, worship and everything In between. I’m looking forward to giving my Kojima grandparent’s my He>I bracelet giving them something they can hold with them to have them remember my trip and my growth. Thank you o lord and all of you, so helping me to praise and serve you o lord!! Amen
at Kaiyo Marine High School The "Tuna Girls" learn how to cut and pack the fish. The boys are assigned to go out to sea or work the docks. Showing us how it is done: Amanda led us in ballet as a warm-up before going on the boat -- Uncle Les Got to drive the boat! Measuring curry for packaging: Making fishcake: In the freezer. Zero degrees! Brrrr. This is where the tuna is stored. Mimi pushes the mixture through to make cold, gelatin-like noodles. Add cold water and eat! It was full of flavor -- Uncle Les
Kamm and I are staying with Kyoko. Her family is really nice and her mom even made us bentos for lunch. On Friday we went shopping and me and Kamm spent a lot of our money at Daiso ($1 store). We also went out for ice cream because if you get 2 scoops, you get a 3rd one free. So far it’s been an awesome time, there’s been great food and it’s been so much fun. Although it’s hard to communicate at times, we can still have fun with each other! -- Kira My homestay is very nice they are very kind and their house is beautiful and amazing. I also went to classes with my homestay and got to experience what school is like in Japan. I had the most fun in English when I got to be a teacher for the class along with Josh. -- Duke Kyoko's family is super nice. They surprisingly are really excited and love Hawaii. The Grandma showed us her cute Muumuu’s and lei's. I played the ukulele and sang a Hawaiian chant for them. -- Kamm (See more pictures under Photos)
Tried new foods with host family, moray eel, snails, bonito, squid with eggs, little white fish on crackers, and deep fried seaweed. All was oishi! Also played with koi's and chicken's. -- Uncle Les Our morning service was a very happy one, in the end. At first, when I arrived I was really tired. But, with energetic children who were eager to learn and meet new people; saying hi, giving us origami/omiyage, asking us for our signature and performed a very very nice dance, it was easy to receive God’s Spirit. This was when I found the Holy Spirit, when I needed it the most, to serve Him. It was also during a time when I prayed to be more alert, to share his love to others. God has a plan for us!! Kamm Kojima Going to be with host families tonight! These are the students hosting our ambassadors: |
